Officer’s Corner

We’ve accomplished a lot these last couple months. Our new bar is looking great. I want to give a big shout out to all those who contributed their time to get it done, and our guests who braved the weather outside while construction was underway. We appreciate your patience. I want to thank everyone for the year we had, especially those of you who stepped up to volunteer your time in the kitchen, around the Post, and for fellow Veterans. Without your support, we wouldn’t be where we are now. Enjoy your holidays. We look forward to seeing you at our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. For God and Country.

Our Thanks for those of you that have paid your annual Post 421 Legion membership dues early. Membership is looking good for this year at over 70% of our goal so far. We will be having our Early Bird Dinner on Friday 17 November from 5 to 7PM for everyone that has renewed their membership on or before 17 November. Guests will be charged $9.00. The dinner will be Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, dinner roll and desert.
Please join us…

Happy Fall to all! At our September 26th meeting, we were visited by the District President and two of her officers. Their visit was enjoyable and the information they shared is useful. At that meeting, our Auxiliary’s Department theme name became the ‘Super Eagle Rangerettes’. Our motto for the year is ‘We’ll fly high to serve our veterans!” So if you notice us soaring around, you’ll know what’s going on! Thanks to all who made donations to the ‘Give 10 for Education’ box. We were able to provide four local schools with a box of school supplies, and school reps were surprised and grateful. We are currently preparing to visit and provide a party for the residents at the Highland Palms assist-ed living facility this Wednesday, October 25. Hopefully, some of our Legionnaires and Sons will attend the event! Thank you Becky Jaramillo, for your help with these two events. As of this writing, the Auxiliary has over 100 membership renewals, which is great! First Vice Terri Granado sends a reminder to those who still need to renew. Since the last bulletin, there has been a couple of delicious Auxiliary breakfasts and dinners coordinated by Second Vice Janae Reed. The great work of the kitchen volunteers is to be commended and appreciated. Keep on volunteering! Until our next bulletin, take care and keep soaring!

Welcome all new SA.L. members. As always, DUES, DUES, DUES. Let’s get paid up. We are going dark for these next couple months for Friday dinners, but we will still be there for Sunday breakfasts. Enjoy your holidays. We look forward to seeing your smiling faces in 2018.
For God and Country.
